Meet Chef Rexroad

Growing up in the quaint rural area of Mendon and Upton MA, Justin went on to study at Johnson & Wales University in Providence RI, where his focus was on becoming a well-trained chef with a focus in sommelier studies. From there he worked at various top restaurants in Providence Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

After a short hiatus from the industry to pursue a professional running career, he re-invented himself in the amazing Seacoast area of Southern NH and Southern ME.  doing several amazing in-home private and offsite events which then eventually led to his food truck “Belle's on Wheels” comfortably stationed in beautiful Kittery Maine, just outside of Tributary Brewery, one of the top breweries in the country. There he focused on more of the roots he grew up with.... wild game, local produce, local/fresh seafood and fish, etc.   That also managed to get him well introduced to the brewery scene in the greater NH/ME area as well, which led to events with Henniker Brewery, Smuttynose, and several other major New England Breweries.

Joining Stars of the show at such elite events as Culinary Fight Club and Pedro Martinez’s Feast with 45, and even having a burger accepted into the James Beard Blended Burger Project, he’s often a culinary force to be reckoned with as a solo act.

In addition to being a star chef, Justin is also a dad and a really cool guy, and that allows and encourages him to have plenty of pages in his cookbook for everything from birthday parties to big game tailgates to formal events, all of which he regularly pulls off with style and aplomb. Among his many satisfying stops have been the Bacon Bourbon Fest Boston, WGBH Food and Wine Fest, The Hampton Beach Seafood Festival and St. Anthony’s Feast in the North End.

Chef Rexroad’s fan faves (which regularly satisfy a growing cadre of ravenous fans) range from mackerel crudo and braised rabbit cannelloni to foie mousse with onion jam and an amazing braised veal with morel mushrooms and dumplings. His portfolio is about as wide and vast as any chef can have and that’s what keeps him excited and hungry for more and more!

So, if you are looking for something that is fresh in every sense of the world, check on Chef Justin Rexroad and befriend whoever is hosting his next catered event or get some of your own friends together and show them what great cooking can be!

Chef Rexroad still does several "pop ups" across New England in addition to all sorts of other major events, so make sure to keep tabs on the website and social media for the next great spot you can find him!
